Endobronchial ultrasound in diagnosis of lung cancer

Abstract

There are around 39,000 cases of lung cancer in the UK with the average 5 year survival for lung cancer is 12.9% and 17.7% for men and women respectively. The investigations of patients with a suspected lung cancer have become more complex. The assessment of patients with a suspected lung cancer should aim to deliver histological confirmation and staging in a timely manner.
