Thoracic surgery multidisciplinary team; Thoracic Symposium
Abstract
Thoracic surgery has evolved over the recent years. A significant part of thoracic surgeons work involves working as part of multidisciplinary team, which includes respiratory physicians, radiologists, pathologists, specialist nurses and oncologists. A proportion of surgical work involves thoracic oncological work for patients with pulmonary or pleural malignancy. However, there has always been a need for non-malignant thoracic surgery. One such example is thoracic surgery to advance emphysema services.
